The Athens Choral Society's first performance was May 18, 1971.
Over the decades the society has remained loyal to the original vision of a non-audition, community chorus. The only requirement for membership is a love of music. We invite you to to attend a performance. Better yet, consider joining us!

John Rutter's "Mass of the Children" and Paul Moravec’s " Songs of Love and War"
This season ACS performs the work of two modern composers. "Mass of the Children" was completed in 2003 and "Songs of Love and War" was written in 1997. [more]

Stephen Mitchell and Sara Lorusso
The group is led by Stephen Mitchell (director) and Sara Lorusso (accompanist). Stephen and Sara lead rehearsals, provide artistic direction, and work with the Society's Board of Directors to accomplish the business and tasks necessary to the success of the group.
